I've only been down to UW and fissure once, and I must say for all of the aataxes i only got really crappy items, nothing special, but I must give it a more proper run through.

UW is so stupid so is FOW i have done over 150 of each now and have not seen any rare drop in either of them oh yeah one but it was stpuid quick recover from cripple shield. have not gotten an ecto yet and got only bout 5 shards. i also solo uw and i get usually to end of smites and die on purpose.... its a waste of time, u need to have favor of the gods + pay 1k each time u go there and what do u get? bunch of noobs aggroing everything, and rarely surviving it and no reward.

The experience is the reward. I never go to UW or FoW for drops, unless I feel like going solo. It's all about the fun. You also can't "solo UW", you solo UW smites and other little baddies, which isn't even a challenge. I solo'd the smites for about 4 days, 2 runs avg per day, to get enough ecto to buy a Fissure set (about 60, rest were bought or gotten from pugs). Try the Reaper quests if you want a good challenge. And FoW is one of the few places where you go up against decent monks in pve.

I do UW just for the drops and for the fun of it (solo). I got 41 ectos, one ruby and 2 saphires the last 2 days (maaaany runs) and a total of over 600k exp. But i only got 2 golden items (one healing ankh - sux, and a nice eternal bow with max dmg & 29life).
I like to do the runs for the moment, but it may get boring after a while...

Having yet to get into UW I would presume you class me in that statment (noob), even tho ive been playing for months & have three lvl 20 characters & 200k in storage?
The reason ive not been is we hardly ever have favor when im online. But when I do go I will listen to the people who are experianced so we dont die fast.
Maybe you are just unlucky in your choice of pug, or you are too impatiant to wait for a decent group to form.
Or & here is a longshot..........NoOb?

Yep, farm UW for EXP. First 5k Mission, the Escort Souls Mission, and the Terrorwebs outside near the city of souls Mission. That's 25k in roughly 30-35 minutes.

ah, nice map... I am glad some people made one, that save alot of trouble. I was going to do it, but now I guess I can enjoy it without too much work. IF someone can label the area of the monster that spawn, it would be great... and even more, some monster data... that would turn it into the ultimate UW guide.

Hope to see FoW map soon... I don't mind helping.

UW is fun. I haven't gotten very far in there yet and the drops I get aren't that great except for once. Lucky drops

I hope to get down to the southwestern corner. That sounds really sweet.

See how big it actually is!!! you only go to 1/8th of the map probably. heck I was down there for almost 5 hours with a good team and we cleaned out the entire underworld, and got some SERIOUS drops and EXP...

BTW... all you guys farming ecto in the north east area. that's not the best place to get it actually. its in the south western region. almost every creature there drops ecto and shards. Tons of them...

Equally so the Fissure of Woe is Also huge and has some really good drops in the far south eastern area... Why? cuase few people go there thats why. its out of the way, and has lots of creatures to fight... (sorry I have not found a good map for fissure of Woe yet) and making one only about 20% there...

That map is amazing. I've usually gone up and around then coming back to twin serpant and into chaos planes where PUGs, even good ones, usually die from mindblade swarms from the dream riders. I've never even seen whats in the bone pits or spawning pools.

Wow, indeed. I can't get past the NR though :O

Maybe I'll try going in there with a good team tonight. That's bloody nuts, I didn't realize it was so huge. Great map too btw.

Yeah that's about where I was at before I got my armor

(I just ended up buying the rest haha) now I'm back at 35 ecto, and saving up to get my guildie some armor !

Anyways, I have only ever found TWO rare drops. One was a pretty decent smite staff, and the other was an eternal bow with +14% dmg mod. Yum. Definitely worth the wait in my opinion.

I really want to say to that person who dies at the smites, DON'T. The smites are often what I get my ecto drops off of, and they are the only things that have dropped rare items for me :P Patience helps.
